From Drab to FAB!! Our newly renovated master suite is now a relaxing oasis!

I am so excited to share that all my hard work the past few weeks on our master suite has paid off! I posted a several months ago some pictures of our house decorations, and I am absolutely LOVING decorating my first home with my husband. However, I spent so much time decorating the guest areas (you know, the areas that everyone sees when they come into our house), and I kind of neglected our master suite. We picked out some colors, threw a comforter on the bedspread, put some color-coordinating towels in the bath, hung up a few pictures frames, and called it a day. Now, a year and  half later, I finally have our master suite the way I envisioned it.

Over the Christmas break, I took 18 plain wooden crates (which my hubby so thoughtfully bought me for Christmas), five fence boards, a plain floor mirror, some wooden accent pieces and decorative knobs,  plain wooden frames, and wood stain to begin my vision for our bedroom. I have to admit that I also had LOTS of fun playing with tools, including my new electric staple gun!

Up until this point, our new sitting/tea room had become my absolute favorite room in the house. (The room that was once an Alabama room that I changed when we got married.) However, I have to say that it is a strong toss-up between that room and our bedroom, now! Needless to say, I'm glad that I no longer look at our bedroom and go BLAH!

Here is the BEFORE --- and this was ALL there was...

Without further adieu, I excitedly present our

 NEW BEDROOM SUITE!

My incredibly awesome husband has also been busy with tools and wood-working. He just finished my AWESOME shoe wall, (yes, you heard that right....SHOE WALL!) today! I have to admit that he definitely spoils me. I cannot wait to organize my shoes and actually be able to find them! I will post more pics of the shoe wall and the finished closet once we get it organized. Paul did such great work and the closet looks so nice!! Here is a preview of the shoe wall, though! :)

Life is about to pick up drastically from here. We have so enjoyed our time to finish some house projects, but the busy Lanza life is back and going strong! It is back to the grind with work, grad school, volunteer work, church, friends, and the crazy chaos that is part of a young marriage. As always, though, we wouldn't change a thing! We are so very blessed, and 2014 is off to a great start! We hope yours is, too!

We'd love to hear from you!

Until next time....
